Interview with Destiny Rose

Published 2014-08-01.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My top 3 favorite books and stories are by my favorite fellow indie author, Jennett Edmond. The order goes as follows; Purple, The Inhabitants, and Next Sunday. The reason I love these so much is because I get a thrill out of them, no matter how many times I read them. Favorite books number four and five are most likely Leviathan by Scott Westerfield and Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. I'm going to cheat a bit here, but I can't not include my great grandmother's books, Before The Lark and I Loved You, Logan Mcgee!
What motivated you to become an indie author?
What motivated me mostly would have to be all the fantastic things I've read over the years. The feelings I would get from the stories inspired me to create this feeling for others, but by my hand. Writing for other's enjoyment gives me the most pleasure I could ever get. Creating my own worlds and lives gives me another kind of excitement as well. Another motivation would be my Great Grandmother, who inspired me with her books when I was little.
When did you first start writing?
I first started my writing at a very young age, at around the first grade. Writing has given me joy all throughout my life, learning to read at the age of three, writing short stories by my third year in elementary school. Creativity is an important value you gain in a lifetime, but as a child it is so much more vast, sometimes you have to let the child behind the maturity let your mind wander to become a proper writer.
What do you read for pleasure?
For pleasure I like to read all different kinds of genres and books; Fantasy, Non Fiction, Horror, Thriller, Suspense, Romance, Drama, Adventure, etc. The list goes on and on.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I mostly spend my time reading if I'm not on a computer typing away, or at my notebook scribbling onto the pages with stories of different kinds. I also enjoy watching movies and my favorite TV show.
