When did you first start writing?
When I was a little girl, around 5 years old.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love exploring imaginary worlds. There is something satisfying about turning a bunch of words into a piece of art.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I've always liked Elvis and my sister and I have seen a number of impersonators. I also love Hawaii.
What are you working on next?
A novel about a first generation Filipino American who goes to the Philippines with his dad to complete the items on his grandma's bucket list.
