Sure do! In fifth grade I wrote my first mystery - "The Road To Paris" . I read it to my class and got a "sitting ovation". I was thrilled, exhilarated, over the moon.
I lived in Redwood City, CA (near San Francisco) and the farthest I'd been from home was Disneyland, but the kids thought I was so worldly, writing a story about two kids who win a cereal slogan contest and go to Paris, where they wind up solving a murder mystery.
