Interview with E-BO

Published 2014-11-05.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town, and by doing that, I got to meet a whole lot of interesting characters. So either I was in a wild situation, or I heard a lot of wild stories that I hope has really influenced my writing style for the better.
When did you first start writing?
I wrote for years, but I never followed through with finishing any of my stories due to either procrastinating, or just lack of time. However, as I got older, I realized that the only way to write is to WRITE NOW RIGHT NOW! That has really influenced me, and finally finishing one 50,000 word novel has really influenced me more. Plus, sites like Smashwords has made it easier for me to write the stories I want without the fear of them being rejected by a publisher.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Bills, and the idea of improving myself along with my family. Lately though, it's been the idea of getting some of these stories out of my head space, and onto a page. They have been in there for way too long.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Unfortunately, working, playing video games, watching movies, and looking up useless things on the internet when I should be writing. But I've been doing better on managing my time lately, so let's hope I can stay in the groove, and crank these suckers out.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greatest joy of writing for me is to tell stories in my own style, and getting them out there in hopes that others may enjoy them too.
What do you read for pleasure?
I normally read quirky detective novels, or comedies set in 80's or 90's pop culture. I'm a sucker for nostalgia.
What are you working on next?
Well, I actually have a few projects lined up, but the story closest to being completed is about a girl having to deal with her religious uncle. I'm not saying it will be next, but I have the story fleshed out pretty well, so we will see.
Do you see yourself as a successful author someday?
Not financially, but I consider myself a success just being able to finally live a dream.
