Interview with Hazel Gower

When did you first start writing?
I started writing in primary school. I started finishing books though, in high school. I didn’t get published though until a little over 5 years ago.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
The indie community is good at working together and helping others.
What is the greatest joy of writing to you?
The freeing feeling of getting my story down and out of my head.
What are your five favorite books and why?
It’s hard to choose just five. I love anything by Christine Feehan, especially her dark series. Laurann Dohner, her new species. S.E Smith, I can’t choose just one of hers that’s my favourite. Patricia Briggs, her Mercy Thompson series. Ruby Dixon her barbarian series and many more.
What is the first book that made you cry?
Are you my mother. By P. D. Eastman. My mum said it made me cry because I hated that the bird had lost his mum.
Who's your book boyfriend or secret book crush?
I have to say I have a thing for my Silverman men.
Do you have a muse or constant reader?
Is all my readers. I always get a boost from my muse when I hear positive emails or messages from fans.
What's your favorite underappreciated novel?
The price of Fame.
Which authors have most influenced or motivated your writing?
Many different writers have influenced me, from Lauren Dane, Mary Wine, Christine Warren, Christine Feehan, Judy Mays, Molly Harper, and many, many more.
