Interview with JC Rivendale

What motivated you to become an indie author?
To be an indie author means freedom. I'm free to write what I want, when I want, without any restrictions on what is politically correct (read boring), or 'accepted'.
Why incest?
I like to push the social norms, get people out of their comfort zone a little. I like to ask uncomfortable questions and push people to really think about the answers and what they believe to be 'right'.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When I'm writing, I tend to get into the 'zone', where the words seem to just flow out of me. I don't even have to think about things. It is such a liberating feeling and makes me aware that I am doing what I was meant to do.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are everything! Without them I wouldn't be able to do the things I love. I writer wants to be read above all else. Without fans, what's the point?
What are you working on next?
I just finished up my Dirty Nieces Incest series. Family Quickies only has a few more books left to go before I end that one too. But something big is in the works. :)
Who are your favorite authors?
I've always liked R.A. Salvatore, and Dan Brown. I will read just about anyone but I certainly do have my faves I always look for. I'm a book whore.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I look forward to each new day. I can't wait to get out of bed in the morning. I'm a morning person definitely. Each day brings something new to the table and I can't wait to see what it is.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love World of Warcraft; I've been a WoW junkie since BC released. I also like to restore classic Mopars. And I could spend the rest of my life just walking around Disney.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I mostly go on the recommendation of my friends when I hunt down new books and authors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
A little. Seems to me it had a woman with really big breasts, and a battleship. *shrugs*
What is your writing process?
I'm a heavy plotter. It really helps me get into the zone when writing. Some people seem to think it restricts the writing too much. Not me. I love taking a plot and seeing where it takes me. It really opens up my imagination.
