Interview with Tara Mooney

When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in 2008
What's the story behind your latest book?
A Magical Tale was inspired by a film I watched many years ago, called The Never Ending Story. It showed me more of an imagination, and it grew from there.
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans mean everything, and all authors need feedback whether its good or bad.
What are you working on next?
I am working on a children's fantasy story at the moment.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to spend time traveling around the UK, as my grown up sons live in different areas. I very much like the outdoors life.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes it was Sacrifices
What is your writing process?
I have to be inspired to write, otherwise my story will not flow the way it should.
How do you approach cover design?
I have an idea in my head as my story progresses, then I do some design work, then take it to my artist friend. But there has been a few book covers I have found on free royalty websites.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Buckinghamshire, England in March 1969. I was always writing stories in my English classes at school, I loved it. I do have a big imagination, that is why I like to write for children, teens and adults.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords is a very good way of getting your book out there, and be noticed along with a wide distribution service.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Who knows the book better than the author. That is why I find it a joy.
