Interview with J.J. Weddle
Published 2014-12-29.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything! I love to read, but I suppose it depends on what I'm in the mood for. Lately, I've been reading a lot of the fantasy genre... anything by Rachel Morgan or Karen Marie Moning.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
The Nook.
Describe your desk
Oh gosh! It's a cluttered mess at the moment, but I suppose I work best in chaos. I have a cup of coffee in my Darth Vader mug, a pair of lime green headphones, my Blerch stress ball, piles of books and my half joker/batman figurine cluttering it.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a very small rural community, where people waved because they really did know you or your grandparents. It really was a lovely place to grow up, and it definitely helped me learn how to expand my imagination. I've always been a bookworm so I think it helped me since I grew up in a quaint little house next to a beautiful library. It made me love and appreciate book so much more!
When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first short story in 4th grade. It was about a little boy who believed there was a monster under his bed, but his parents didn't believe him and eventually he gets pulled into this crazy dimension of monsters that live under the bed. I've always had a huge imagination.
