Interview with Deborah Kulish

How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
A huge advantage of using Smashwords for my success is that they sell epub files to people in other countries outside the USA. One thing readers in other countries complain about is that there are not enough ebooks available for their types of ereaders. Having my books available on Smashwords is an entirely new market.

Plus, Smashwords makes it so easy to publish books on their platform with their Style Guide and Template. It's definitely a must for every author.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy of writing is expressing my sense of humor. Comedy was my initial intent when I started writing novels. But, I know readers what suspense too. So, I add some twists and turns to keep the story exciting.

Plus, the excitement of seeing your own work published. I’m not a big time seller—yet! But, I continue to persevere and I enjoy the writing, the marketing, and the social media. Everyone has been wonderful in the social media sector. I’m very encouraged.
What do your fans mean to you?
Approval, acceptance, and friendship. It’s a great feeling to see reviews, kudos, and yes, even greeting cards telling me what a great job I’m doing. Thank you to all my fans!
What are you working on next?
The second novel in the Happily Ever After series, Christmas Runaway.

Growing up, Jan Nichols always spent a traditional Christmas with family on her Grandparents’ farm.

So, when the newlywed loses a bet to her husband she expects to endure the worst—holidays with his family.

Determined to have her way, Jan needs to be creative and find her escape from his family’s cottage without anyone noticing she’s gone.

But on Christmas day, when she is stranded on a rural road in whiteout conditions, she fears the worst. All Jan can do is hope that her husband realizes she’s missing before it’s too late and come to her rescue.
