Interview with Kristin Miorkey

What are you working on next?
Right now I'm working on my poetry collection, which is called: "Stardust - The Poetry of Life". It will be out soon.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes! I was very young, I couldn't even write yet, so I drew pictures, and told my granddad what to write. It was a book about a duck, wearing a tall hat, wondering around all alone in the world, enduring all kinds of suffering before finally finding happiness.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book I ever read on my own was "De kom fra Jontar" by Karen Videbæk. It is a children's sci.fi. book, and I have been hooked on sic.fi. ever since. I hope to write my own sic.fi. stories in the future.
When did you first start writing?
I have been writing all my life. Even before I could write, the grown-ups around me, would help me put my stories into words. As a teenager I started writing poetry, picture books and short stories.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The inspiration for "At The End of The Rope - Is a New Beginning" is personal growth and change. It's about our fears our desires our spirituality, thoughts of life and death, about tranformation, about the ordinary becoming extraordinary. I believe life is a journey, and that inspires me.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Expressing my innermost self from the heart. It feels like my soul is shining through me, making life worth living.
Who is your favorite author?
My favorite author is Peter F. Hamilton, I read all his books.
