Interview with Molly Mitchell

What do your readers mean to you?
Everything! Duh! I couldn't do this without my readers. I absolutely love getting emails from my audience telling me how I've improved their lives in some way. Talk about a full heart!
What are you working on next?
It's a secret ;) Hint: It'll show you how to lose up to 10 pounds in one single week!
Who are your favorite authors?
This is a tough one. Lately, I've really been enjoying Paula Hawkins, Andy Weir and Sejal Badani. As far as non-fiction, I like anything from Tony Robbins to Mari Kondo. I have a lot of favs ;)
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My kids, my books and the fact that I get to wake up every morning and do what I love!
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm either in the gym, cooking or chasing my kids around the house. Literally! I love to cook healthy foods and experiment with new recipes. I also love going to the gym and getting results. Sometimes, chasing my kids around the house is my cardio for the day. :)
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Usually they come recommended from someone I know. However, I love to discover new books for myself too. So, I just search for a topic I'm interested in and choose a new book adventure to embark on. I try to read a new book from an author I've never heard of at least twice a month.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do! I was in second grade and I wrote my first book about my hamster, Sunshine. I even drew little pictures of myself playing with Sunshine. I think my mom still has it!
What is your writing process?
Just write! If I spend too much time thinking about what I'm going to write, it will never get finished. I write first and then I rewrite. Then I rewrite a lot more. Eventually, I have finished draft!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
When I was a kid I loved Nancy Drew. I think I knew then I wanted to be a writer.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
iPad. I take it EVERYWHERE with me!
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I like to email other authors in my circle and ask them to read my book. If they feel like it could benefit their readers, I ask them to recommend it to them.
Describe your desk
A big iMac in the middle and A LOT of notes scribbled in notebooks. Add a few photos of my kids and BAM! You've got my desk :)
