Interview with Pronil Halder

Published 2014-12-12.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Expressing the actual feeling of inside and continue finding something new are the greatest joy of writing.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean courage and inspiration to me.
What are you working on next?
Science fiction. Trying to simplify difficult terms using a philosophic eye site.
Who are your favorite authors?
Satyajit Roy.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The thirst to know what happens next.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to spend time thinking on what should I write and how would it help mankind.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Of course I do. It was over the contribution of a fair in our society. It won the second prize on a local competition. I was perhaps 10.
What is your writing process?
I like to keep my poems simple and rhythmic. One where you can put a harmony, one you can use both as song and poetry. While writing stories, I just use local terms and phases.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I've been reading stories since long childhood, so it's sort of impossible to call up the first story I read. But I can remember, when I was about 5-6, I used to follow the 'Pandav Goyenda' (Five Detectives, Bengali) which left a deep impact in my memories.
What do you read for pleasure?
Sometimes I read science reference books. One can naturally think that what kind of read is that, but I would say that it isn't that bad because when I read these I learn more about the universe which helps me to ask questions and possibilities to myself and I write them through the science fictions of mine.
