What are you working on next?
I've completed a recent bout of pop fiction with Anthony Mathenia and am now working on a new novel.
Who are your favorite authors?
I am heavily influenced by writers like: Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemingway, Flannery O'Connor, Joan Didion, Vladimir Nabokov, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Leo Tolstoy, Marcel Proust, and Albert Camus, among others.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend much of my time reading, traveling, and enjoying a pint.
What is your writing process?
I generally write through the night when it's quiet and I can think clearly. I'm usually sipping on a pint of ale while I write.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
My grandmother read me Call of the Wild by Jack London and I fell in love with stories.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Five books that have meant a lot to me are: The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald, The Stranger by Albert Camus, The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway, Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, and The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
What do you read for pleasure?
I usually read literary fiction, poetry, old war correspondence, and old letters.
