Biography
When I was a boy, my grandmother gave me a book by Enid Blyton. I read it in one sitting and my love affair with reading and books began. In High School I voraciously consumed nearly every type of book, from pulp Sci-Fi to thrillers, from trashy romance to epics like Lord of the Rings.
I began writing in Primary (Junior) School, and I have continued on and off for over 30 years. I always knew I that could write to entertain and that I had a novel or two in me, but life always seemed to get in the way. I completed a manuscript called "Echo Valley" in 2006 but with a young family and a full time job, it was always too hard and time consuming to try and break down the gates of traditional publishing.
I began my journey as a self-published author in March of 2012 when my daughter asked when I was going to get off my butt and get Echo Valley published. At a loose end that day, I entertained the idea and did some research. That's when I discovered Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. As an experiment I published a short story (along the lines of Shades of Grey which was huge at the time) and sold three copies the first night. I was on my way.
By December I had sold over 35,000 books and short stories (under pseudonyms) on Amazon. Of course this was beyond my wildest expectations and the journey that began so long ago, with that gift from my grandmother, had well and truly begun. AFTER DAYS is the first of many stops I hope to make as I continue my journey.
