Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I ever read...(I'm going off the one I remember vividly) was Charlotte's Web. When I was little (kindergarten age, so about five) I could not read at all. I tried everything I could think of to learn. It was very frustrating too, no one else in my class couldn't read. Sometimes I would come home in tears because I couldn't do what the other kids were doing. Then over a break (I think it was Christmas Break), I woke up one morning and picked up a copy of Charlotte's Web my teacher had given me. I remember her telling me she loved the book. I don't quite know how it happened or why I decided to read that morning, but I sat down and opened up the book. The next thing I knew, my mom came in to wake me up and I was halfway through the book. To this day, the experience of finally being able to read has stuck with me along with the book. I can't say the book itself had an impact on me, it is a good book though, but going to school after finally reading was absolutely amazing. The one thing I learned was to never, ever give up.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything to me, after all, they are the ones who tell me when I'm not writing a good piece. Without my fans, I don't think I would ever write. They make me a better writer.
