Luqman Raymond Whittinger

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
At school, I was accused of plagiarism which was not true so my writing career did not start until I became a press officer for a political youth activist group. I soon was sending copy to newspapers, and that was extended to becoming the press officer for the Parliamentry constituency.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It is two or three years ago since I wrote my last book because I now specialise translation books to film scripts. The book in question was Mihte Lugh's Return: Arthur Unmasked. This is a book series as significant as Mallory's Mort D'Arthur because it returns to ancient pre-Christian myths as the latter. I had been aware that Mort D'Arthur was written under strict religious repression. The story is about Lugh the Fairy King at different stages of his life cycle. The Mihte Lugh book series set out to liberate Lugh as himself. The danger in the past was that Christ's story fits over Lugh's template. Yet, both stories describe two different Trinities. Lugh's describes time's cyclical nature. Jesus's is static and has not significance other that as a teleological argument to get out of some very difficult corners early Greek Christians themselves got in.

Mihte Lugh's Return: Arthur Unmasked, is the story of Jack's return to where he grew up as a changeling. While everyone else was content how things were going on Jack was suspicious. This story is much closer to Harry Potter than the two previous books. Soon chaos erupts as Jack's brothers Haw and Rowan, and a few Houyhnhnms arrive with Mishca, Haw's girlfriend with a warning something is going down. Getting this ragbag of supernatural beings adapted to school life is impossible. Soon the local has erupted with hoards of fairy beings and druids trying to save humankind from being harvested. In the story, we have incorporated real places and archeological sites.
