First, a disclaimer: I'm not one for romances but the fantasy setting made me want to read it anyway.
Interesting concept. It suffered from a major case of info dump and could use some work with the pacing. The beginning was pretty cluttered, I had a hard time getting into it. But once I dug deeper it got better.
The major factor was the pacing. I would of enjoyed it much more if details about characters and the world they inhabited were given in a more natural way.
I can see why many people liked the book, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
This series I'm really getting into. I loved the first two and plan on reading the rest.
The worlds the author creates is interesting by itself, then there is this mystery about all of it that adds so much more.
I really want to know where this is all going and already have a few theories.
Intelligent and engaging read.
