Lachlan Gunn

Biography

Lachlan Gunn was educated in Edinburgh, apart from two years spent in Malaysia and Singapore. He first joined the Royal Navy, and then switched to the British Army where he served with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and Second Gurkhas (The Sirmoor Rifles). He left the Army in Hong Kong and entered the field of commercial security, initially as a Consultant, and then to run security businesses in Taiwan and Thailand. After a brief sojourn in India he returned to the UK where he set up BenAlpin Ltd (his own consultancy). In 2004 he co-founded the European ATM Security Team (EAST) at which 28 countries are now represented.

Lachlan now lives in Scotland on a hill overlooking the River Tay. Neil M. Gunn, the acclaimed Scottish writer, is Lachlan's great-uncle. 'Merdeka' is Lachlan's first novel.
