Excellent read! Very interesting twists and turns in a tale of 3 young men.

A unique voice for a unique coming of age tale with an interesting rhythm and pace that seems to parallel the changes in the main character's emotional condition. I was drawn in and read in one setting. The main character, Joaquin, has some unbelievable experiences but ends up, even despite his own senses, becoming more than he was when the story began. The Excess Road is a profound look into a time, a place and a distinct mind.
