How do you approach cover design?
I see a books cover as the setting of the story. a plain colored cover won't get a second glance from me, i like to see a little detail about the story in the cover is it a cabin in the woods, have a cabin in the woods as the cover. A mystery taking place in a castle give me a castle on the cover add a magnifying glass if you like. Just don't give me a plain cover with a title. the cover needs to reflect the story don't put a dog on the cover if there isn't a dog in the story. The cover picture helps me to set a scene in my mind as i read. if there's a brown haired couple on the cover those will be the people i see as i read the story. I've actual read a few with brunettes on the cover yet the story described them as blondes. Which turns me away from future reading more of an authors stories. Just because i can't get a clear picture of what the story is about.
What do you read for pleasure?
my go to books for pleasure would have to be romance, everyone needs a little fantasy in their lives. I also read erotica its a pure art that is hard to write let alone completely understand.
