This is vintage Aken. He is a master of the short story and can get inside the hearts of minds of an incredible array of characters - not always human. Each story draws you into its world and compels you to stay to the end, even if some of these worlds are not so nice. The writing style is both rich and lean. Not a word to spare but everything said.

These recipes are amazing and I love the tips and tricks throughout the book. I'm looking forward to Fantastic Bread.

This is how short story anthologies are meant to be. This is a collection of fantasy and sci-fi stories. All very different. All very well written. Some funny, some creepy, some uplifting, some sad. It’s exactly what a short story collection should be – a thumping good read.

You've witnessed the crazy, now whip up the gravy. Brilliant! Apart from it being a great idea, this book is superb value. 50 recipes and over 50 "fantastic tips". I love it.
