  • "Normal" MAYDAY on July 27, 2010

Ron Berger's "Normal" Mayday is a splendid autobiography showcasing Ron's career as an air traffic controller. Ron's voice is very engaging throughout. His description of breaking out of small-town life by joining the US Air Force is a great story. Ron took advantage of every opportunity to learn and to observe his surroundings, and this book brings all of that to us. From his time learning the ropes in England, through his experience in Saudi Arabia, and then through all his stops in America, you are transported into his world. His journey was certainly part of the tale as getting from place to place was half the experience! At the end of his book is an adult that can look back on some remarkable changes in air traffic safety and air travel in general. I really enjoyed my time spent reading this book. There are some pictures in here too, and I was pleasantly surprised seeing them.
  • Kings of Providence on March 18, 2011

The Kings of Providence is a marvelous conspiracy thriller. All the familiar elements are here: an anti-hero; a trust-worthy side-kick; a menacing agency, participating in a cover up of huge proportions. There's an overall sense of dread that doesn't let up until the very end. The author's prose puts you inside the plush halls of high finance, and the dank darkness of New York City's tunnel system. The writing is super, and you will fly through this fast-paced book. I very much enjoyed reading this, and I think fans of this genre will enjoy it too.
