This was a very sweet story. Although the writing was weak in a few places (lots of telling rather than showing, and a few editing flubs), I was charmed by the characters and the plot. It's a rather formulaic story about rebel leaders who want to dethrone a king (one of whom fashions herself after Robin Hood), and you can call most of the plot twists from a ways off, but it was no less enjoyable or entertaining for its tropes. The romance was quite cute and chaste, and the 'rebellion' is quite possibly the least bloodless I've ever seen in an adventure/Robin Hood tale. While a few of the mentions of the characters' faith seemed a bit shoehorned in, the author at no time descended into lectures or outright moralizing. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it for someone looking for a gentle, enjoyable read that leaves you happy when you finish it.
