S. Marie L'Pree
Biography
Born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Utah, S. Marie has been abroad in Brasilia, Brazil, teaching and coaching English as a second language for the past several years. Although she has been in this foreign land for quite some time, she considers Salt Lake City her hometown and comes back to visit often.
Shortly after S. Marie ventured into her teaching gig, she developed a passion for the English language and decided to further her education, and graduated with a BA in English. Not one to keep a personal diary, she’s been writing short stories for as long as she can remember in agendas, paper notebooks, and eventually, on laptops.
The inspiration to write in the young adult genre comes from her cultural adventures, and the interesting people she’s had the good fortune of meeting and teaching along the way.
S. Marie is a member of the League of Utah Writers and the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) and attends conferences when she’s in town.
