This story was truly life changing. The premise of the story alone is enough for anyone to realize this will not be your run of the mill young adult novel.

I read this series to see what all the excitement was about. I can understand it now. It's entertaining with substance. It kept my interest though the series. (which is more than I can say for most books). A must read if you desire those two things.

I was ravished by the story. The book is told from Brandon's point of view, first person past tense. The conversations occurring in Brandon's head (he talks to his weapons) Overall, the style sheds a unique light on the inner workings of this developing character. I think it works. It keeps the mystery alive and the action tense for the reader.

This series kept me entertained from the beginning. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I am glad that the author is making another book b/c as I got nearer to the end the Gods finally began to make their move. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

I loved this series! Brandon is such a great hero. Clever, strong, and caring for others. So much so that his biggest fear seems to be accidentally hurting those around him.

At the same time there is a great reflection of our own society in the way of the 'Followers'. The author talks about how easily they give up their will and now that I I've seen it that way, I admit he has a point.

The book is a winner from the beginning, but once the action begins, it's very hard to put down!

My English professor & a friend recommended this series to me so I went ahead and read it and I'm so glad I did because this is one of the best book I've ever read (The whole series is amazing). Absolutely LOVE it! I'm not a big reader myself but I already re-read this series at least 5 times.

This book continues a brilliant series, I couldn't put it down once I started it I got so caught up that I stayed up late into the night reading it and came into work tired and a bit melancholy the next day. If you are looking for a feel good read this is not the book for you. However, if you are looking for a fantastic, emotional and heartrending story with characters that come off the page and remain with you, then this is definitely the book for you.
