Interview with Jamie Bradshaw

What do you read for pleasure?
Mostly I read fiction (Science Fiction, Science Fantasy, Fantasy). I like to read historical accounts as well.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My only two devices that I read on are my computer and my iPhone.
Describe your desk
My desk is a chaotic mess! I have papers, pictures, books, pens and pencils.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on military installations and so I think this has instilled in me a love of different places and people. This influences my writing by providing me with different memories to draw my inspirations from.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I suppose the primary motivation for becoming an indie author is the fact that I can write what I want, when I want, and how I want.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Smashwords has allowed me to actually publish.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy from writing is simply the pleasure of doing so and the hope that others might enjoy the story that I'm telling.
What do your fans mean to you?
I'll let you know that when I get some fans!!
Who are your favorite authors?
Robert E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft are probably my top two. Of course, Tolkien as well.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Duty to my family and my country.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to spend time with my family. I also attempt to play guitar, watch a bit of rugby on occasion, and study swordsmanship.
