Interview with Michea B

Published 2017-06-02.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing back when I was in school, but I really started writing back after 9th grade as a way to thumb my nose at my English teacher since she told me I couldn't take World Literature because I had problems with standardized writing tests.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I would say the greatest joy would be being able to show people the stories that float around in my head.
What is your writing process?
Mostly either the "by the seat of my pants" style or what a former teacher called "vomit and edit".
What are you working on next?
I'm working currently on a few fan fiction stories, and brain storming "The Guardian's Descent". I post up my fan fiction on Archive of Our Own under Michea B, and those are updated on a chapter by chapter basis. "The Guardian's Descent" will pick up where "The Guardian's Ascension" left off.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I got tired of constantly finding my manuscripts being round filed. I only received one response back on my book, the rest I only found out about the manuscript being turned down by a [DECLINED] showing up over on my authors.me profile.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my time making videos on YouTube, playing video games (MMORPGs and RPGs), reading, and enjoying spending time with my partner.
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy reading a little of everything, though my favorite genre would have to be fantasy or non-fiction books on religious history.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I honestly cannot select only five books. Books have always been my passion, so telling me to only pick five would be unfair to all of my favorites.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I enjoy using my Samsung tablet to read my ebooks. I can use it for everything except Apple iBooks versions.
Describe your desk
The best description would be: "There appears to have been a struggle."

I have my craft area on the left side of my desk, where I work on my clay creations and miniatures. The corner part of my desk (an L desk) holds my computer and my lamp. My monitors and books/notes/misc are on the right side, along with various decorations and figures I've collected.
