Interview with Waneda S. Jackson

Published 2013-08-30.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up, mostly, on the south side of Chicago. Chicago was the platform of my drifting. It was, in a sense home. It was lacking though. I was always looking for something. I could never say what. I now know what this whole journey was about now. It wasn't in vain.
When did you first start writing?
I always kept some kind of journal when I was young. I was also an avid reader from a very early age. I loved stories, literature, english, everything pertaining to giving thought in the written form. I love truth. I find it more interesting than anything fictious.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Life, love and the absence of love is what motivated me to write this book. We often spend our entire lives searching for that perfect love. I found it in Christ. HIS love has carried me and half the time, I didn't acknowledge that truth. Everything about HIM is the perfection I was seeking. I carry HIM, LOVE, in my spirit everyday.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Convience, really. Affordability and the ability to tell my story my way.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
The greastest joy of writing... Honesty! I love the freedom of writing. My father always said to me, "It's not what you say, it's how you say it". YEAH! I keep that in mind in day to day interactions. But, as you can see, if you read the diary portion; It is what it is with writing. It's like music to me. A note is not just a note, you have to feel it.
Who are your favorite authors?
I love anything written by John Saul. WHERE'S YOUR NEXT BOOK? lol I love history. I really like to dig my face into the real. History!... YEP!... MY PAST! LOL MY FUTURE? Welp, with GOD as my guide, EXCITEMENT!!! BE BLESSD!!! AS YOU REACH THE CONCLUSION OF "TURN AROUND: LIFE'S TESTIMONY"!
