A. Alan Jones

Biography

Alan Jones was born in a little two bedroom house eight miles west of Bozeman, Montana. He eventually chose to become a contractor, his lifetime occupation.

He taught safe boating as a public service for many years and wrote many formal lesson plans. He submitted an article describing a private cruise and sold it to a boating magazine. Then he started thinking about stories passed down from his father. These stories happened when his grandfather pioneered in Montana in the 1890's and early twentieth century. He felt the stories needed to be recorded for future generations.

Land of Predators (Frontier Challenge), written as a novel about the settling of Montana, uses those true stories as a base to build on. Cat's Journey (Ghost Gold) is a spin off where he gave his imagination even more leeway.
