Amanda Chu lives in New York with her three dogs that she pampers and treats like family. She graduated from Molloy College with a bachelors of science in nursing, but decided to first pursue writing. She has had an interest in fantasy since she was young and often read through her anthology of tales from the Grimm brothers during her free time.
She first started writing the Chrystacia series when she was 14 during her lunchtime at school. Years later, she decided to rewrite it and work on publishing it.
In her downtime she enjoys swimming, crocheting, listening to some of her favorite tunes and watching dramas.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy of writing is getting to create new worlds. Since I focus on fantasy, I can make them as unusual and magical as I want to. I particularly enjoy creating enchanted forests and elegant, rich castles.
What are you working on next?
I have just finished the first book in the Chrystacia series. At the moment, I am working on the second. Where the first sets a foundation to a mystical world, the characters and their relationships, the second digs a bit deeper into the lore of this world and the difficulties that arise when putting these different personalities together.
What if mythical beasts and magic were a true part of our history and still existed beneath our very feet? For Chrystacia, a night of betrayal awakens something deep inside her that she never could have imagined existed. Raw, hot magic pulses through her veins. Hurtled into a new world, can she unlock the mysteries of her powers or will dark forces destroy her and those she holds dear?
