Smashwords Interview

If you could address your readers, what would you like them to know most?
I would like to send out my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of you who have supported me by reading my books. I know there is a vast choice of titles in the marketplace (and more each day), so I don’t take your support lightly.

10 years ago, I waded into the unknown by releasing 'Call of Destiny', the first book in the series. What an adventure and challenge I had ahead of me! Four wonderful but exhausting years later, I concluded the series with the fourth and final chapter, 'Enemy Within'.

When I started out, I had no expectations as to what would become of my efforts. And when I concluded the series, I went on to other pursuits and just let the series ‘do its thing’ in the marketplace. Except for the occasional sales report coming across my desk, I mostly put it out of mind. This wasn’t because I wasn’t proud of my work. On the contrary. I had just moved on with fond memories of the experience as my reward.

Recently, upon receiving a sales report from my publisher, I realized I had never kept track of just how many books I had sold. Curiosity got the best of me. When I finally did the math—I was stunned! I hadn’t realized just how many people had read my humble stories. I was overwhelmed! I can’t tell you how thankful I am to all of you.
You haven't done much with social media. Have you ever thought about doing more there?
Yes, I actually wanted to explore social media when my series first came out. But the hustle & bustle of just trying to get the series published kept me from such efforts, and distractions afterwards got the best of me. My heartfelt apologies to my readers.

To make amends, I have decided to reach out to my readers as much as I can. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to do this. I envision posting background information and trivia about the series. I want it to be fun and give readers the ability to ask me questions and such. I'm hoping the background info may give them more insight into what they may have read.

As soon as I have a plan, I will give an update here.
