Chantal Mortimer

I live, and write, in the beautiful Scenic Rim Region, in southeast Queensland, Australia. My small property is surrounded by rolling hills, with dramatic mountains in the backdrop. With misty mornings, spectacular sunsets, and the Milky Way just beyond my fingertips in the evenings, it is very hard not to be inspired. Daily.

From a Book Review By Lit Amri (Readers’ Favorite) ...Chantal Mortimer’s prose is unhurried, faultless and engaging. Personally, I think her writing style is wide ranging enough for a different demographic of readers. On the whole, 'Embers of the Sun' is a great read that one can easily enjoy and I look forward to Mortimer’s other work.

Smashwords Interview

What are you working on next?
'Kindred' is the working title of my new book. Three people searching to find themselves, and unknowingly each other, across the astral dimensions. The bond between them bridges divides that have separated Kindred for millennia and ignites their determination to find escape from the dark events, past and future, destroying their worlds.Yet, bygone prejudice and betrayals threaten to tear them apart, even as they race to find salvation - the Genesis Brink. Note: subject to change, creative imagination engaged!

A blend between science fiction and urban fantasy - does that make it science fantasy?
Who are your favorite authors?
Wilbur Smith was the first author who made an impression on me... I read 'When a Lion Feeds' when I was a kid and fell in love with everything he wrote... the whole collection, hard back editions only, still have pride of place in my extensive library.

The list is long and ecclectic! Terry Pratchett (Vale!); David Eddings; Robert Ludlum; Stephanie Meyer; Dan Brown; Victoria Holt; Daphne Du Maurier; JK Rowlings; Tolkien (of course) and... I think you get the picture!
