A great concept -- combing alternate history and steampunk in the old west -- pulled off very well. Intriguing characters, and a setting so vivid I could feel the grit. The flashes of humor enhanced the story, which was dark at times. People will joke around when under pressure, and the author puts the main characters under plenty of it. I read this in paperback and bought one for my e-reader so I could read it again in a more portable way. This is a story you will want to read over again.
  • Escaping Prejudice With The California Rancher: A Mail Order Bride Romance on Oct. 11, 2015

What a nice, warm story this is! I really enjoyed the caring rancher in it, and the woman who grew up bullied, but was open to love in spite of it. I would love to read more about them. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Thorough and easy to understand. I think I'd like to have a checklist in the back with the steps outlined without all the explanation -- so that the next time I format a book I can buzz through it. I'll remember the steps if I just see them listed.
