Elly MacAuley

Biography

I'm Elly, a self-published historical romance author from Merseyside, UK. I published my debut novel Fire on the Waterfront in 2020, inspired by the chaos and drama caused by the WW2 May Blitz, a shocking event in the city of Liverpool's history.

WW2 is a massive source of inspiration for me and has been the central focus of the series of free novellas I have been writing since publishing my novel. Set in small communities, they focus on the intense, magnetic and fiery relationships people have in War time and post-War settings.
The first of these, In the Dead of Night, is set in a deprived Merseyside town where rumours abound about the disappearance of the local, handsome Shipyard owner's wife. Filled with devilish, sexy intrigue it available for free when you sign up to my mailing list. Just click on the link for my website for more details.
The second of these novellas is A Slice of Heaven, a more lighthearted rom-com about people in a Lancashire village fighting over who will win the local baking competition. When old flames Patrick and Jessy end up locking horns again after so many years apart things reach - BAKING - point pretty fast.

I write a blog and also run a podcast with my partner in all things non-criminal, Marc, called Love Language where we chat about romance across a wide range of media and popular culture.
