What is your writing process?
I go at it hell-for-leather, get the ideas down and then sort it out later.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I do remember the first time I read. It was usual sort 'Jack is a boy, Jill is a girl, Mary is a little girl.' I do remember the delight when the words made sense. THere were not many books around when I was growing up, there was a mobile library the Bookmobile, that came once a month My dad would buy boxes of books for me at auction sales hence I was strongly influenced by British books, often adult ones about the British in India rather than a few from Enid Blyton and stories about girls in boarding schools. They were always playing hockey and going on picnics - most uncomfortable.
