I enjoyed this story so much. The evocation of a little boy's lonely childhood, wrestling with terrors of which he dares not speak, was masterfully sympathetic and plausible. The reasonably well-meaning but insensitive parents are recognisably authentic, too, and the innovative use of language
is most pleasing, without being intrusive or interrupting the steady building up of dread as we hurtle towards the end...
I also loved the casual onomatopoeia ('clink, glug' !). Very visual, would make a great short film.

The Secret Summer of Peter Fotheringay
I thoroughly enjoyed this very exciting fantasy/SF adventure. Delightful characters, nail-biting tension, constant challenges, and finally the satisfaction of a plausible resolution. A real page-turner. On a more sombre note, the story encourages the reader to identify who constitutes the real enemy of the people in today’s Australia. Highly recommended for both reasons.
