Biography

Joseph L. Cooke is a retired detective from Washington, DC. He is the former weapons and technology editor for Officer Magazine and remains a record holder in Urban Combat pistol competitions. He has long been recognized as a small arms expert by the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Mr. Cooke holds licenses issued by the FAA, FCC, and the US Coast Guard, and consults on aviation and maritime security issues worldwide. Joe divides his leisure time between the mountains of North Carolina and the Las Vegas desert. He also volunteers as an airsoft CQB platoon commander, sponsoring at-risk teens and young adults. Mr. Cooke holds instructor certificates from, and is a Life Member of, the National Rifle Association.
