Padmini Sankar

Biography

Padmini Sankar, short-story writer and author, has lived in Dubai for many years. Her debut novel, The Mother of all Parties, a fun romp through the life of a Dubai socialite’s preoccupations and peccadilloes, has been very well received. She has recently signed screen rights for the same. Her stories have been published in online magazines and shortlisted in competitions. She’s also self-published a family history.

Padmini presently has her writing fingers in many pies – she is working on a sequel to The Mother of all Parties, planning an anthology of Dubai-based stories, and also gathering material for a historical novel that’s been playing on her mind for many years.

When not writing, Padmini spends most of her time reading, cooking (she claims to make the best gunpowder masala in town), travelling around the world, or else enjoying a chin-wag with her friends.

She has two adult children and lives with her husband in Dubai.
