Biography
My name is Michael Porter, some call me Roaddog.
Formal training for writing, I have exactly none, I did start reading early, generally before breakfast. I actually learned to read before I started school, many thanks to mother for all the hours she put in. Of course, this wasn't popular with the school at that time, some fool had just introduced a new learning system, some sort of phonetic garbage. When asked “Why should children have to learn English twice?” They had no answer. I didn't bother with that phonetic junk, they had to get some old books out of storage for me to read. Yes, a troublemaker from the start. I was only at that particular school for one year, but before I left, I had read every book they had, well, all the ones that were spelled properly. This pattern continued through every school I attended, grammar school was no different, they had a huge library, which I read in less than three years. Much to the despair of my teachers reading didn't help me in my English lessons, spelling, punctuation, these things aren't important it's the story that counts. I'm sorry Miss Boll, Cider with Rosie is boring, I'm not reading it. David Eddings, now he's good. I'm making no friends amongst the English department here.
For me reading and writing is all about the story.

It all started for me with a fantasy series, I’d read a really dreadful book and decided I could do far better. It took me a while, like twenty years, off and on. But finally the epic was published and is available online and elsewhere. The Doom of Namdaron, an epic in five volumes, classic fantasy for all those fans of that genre, with a few extras, that I hope you will enjoy. Definitely of an adult nature, and very human in so many respects, an epic not to be missed.
