Ted Macaluso

Biography

Ted Macaluso writes adventure tales, books for kids about art, and science fiction stories. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. His first children’s book, Vincent, Theo and the Fox, is a story about Vincent van Gogh and growing up. Kirkus Reviews called it “…a charming, unique way to introduce youngsters to great art while providing an important message.” The Washington Post said “…the colorful paintings jump off the pages and will give you a lot to think about…it’s cool. Very cool.” His short story, The Recall, was a winner in The Washington City Paper 2018 Fiction Contest. In April 2020 Fabula Argentea: The Venue of Good Writing published his humorous fiction, Happy Ever After.

Ted has a Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University and studied creative writing at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland, taking courses on writing for children, writing science fiction and fantasy, plot development and much more. He lives in Reston, Virginia with his lovely wife, kind-hearted dog, and frequ8ently mischHievous word zprocessor. When he isn’t writing or reading, he loves hiking, travel, and photography.
