‘Psychs 1st’ is a spin off from the 'Psychs series' that tells the story of young Hassan, a guy with eight ghosts connected to him by the tragic event of his birth. He decided to visit the United States in an effort to put closure to 7 of the ghosts by visiting their families and give them letters with a fake story of how he got them, only to discover that he is there to do more than that.

The last year and a half tells the story of Olivia Scott and how her whole life had changed by her struggle to recover from cancer. The author portraits how Olivia views her life after she witnesses the drastic changes that occurred from her chemotherapy, her altered body and her relation with her lover, Lee. Unable to stand the weight on her altered chest she takes off, to head to her best friend May. How would someone deal with a decision like that? Having no answer to where, how and what she will do next? She only hopes to find out through her new journey. The story was well written with excellent dialogue you’d like to get in with, and the experience itself made me want to know how such a situation can be dealt with, more so since Olivia (or as May call her sometimes, Olive Oil) is a character I became fond with. Author Gina Lawless knew her turf very well since she is also a navigator who navigates with her husband; she was able to take the reader into a subconscious tour. This short story is a really nice journey you will definitely like to see it through. A. H. Amin
