Poetry is my focus as a writer. I started out writing songs for an independent recording group but eventually became disillusioned with it. Instead of trying to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of music, I decided to focus on poetry because it just felt more authentic. I try to take the everyday, ordinary thing or event and attempt to present it in such a way that is both descriptive and engaging. I am still evolving as a writer and my hope is to write something that inspires others. My desire is that those who read my work will find a new appreciation for the genre of poetry in particular.
This is an exploration of the human condition and the various expressions of the mind of this poet in particular. Themes shift from that of family, friendship, and holidays to verses about isolation, separation, and loneliness. It is a written example of struggling to find one's place and purpose in the world and looking for something common and relatable.
