Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book, A Garden in the Wilderness, continues the Dean family history. It describes their immigration to the New World. Their ship bound for New York is boarded by the British and taken to Halifax, where the Deans are forced to make a life for themselves in the wilderness of Musquodoboit.

The book is available as an e-book from Borealis Press, who published it in 2012. It is my first book that is not self-published.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I became an indie author because the publishing process is so slow and I'm not getting any younger. I did have a book published by a small publishing company but they have done so little marketing, I decided I could do as well on my own.
