Biography

Eric Maisel is widely regarded as America’s foremost creativity coach. He has been counseling and coaching clients for more than twenty-five years and his 40+ books, among them Coaching the Artist Within, Making Your Creative Mark, Creativity for Life, and The Van Gogh Blues, have helped hundreds of thousands of creative and performing artists live healthier, more productive, and more creative lives.

His creativity coaching trainings have provided nearly a thousand artists, coaches, and therapists with the opportunity to learn the principles and practices of creativity coaching. Dr. Maisel provides workshops in San Francisco, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Prague and Rome and other locations worldwide, presents at venues as diverse as the Paris Writers Workshop, the Savannah College of Arts and Crafts, and the American Conservatory Theater, delivers workshops at workshop centers like Esalen, Kripalu, Omega, Hollyhock and Rowe, and writes the Rethinking Psychology blog for Psychology Today, a weekly column for Fine Arts America, and a monthly print column for Professional Artist Magazine.

Dr. Maisel’s books have been translated into Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Czech, Turkish and other languages and he has done hundreds of radio, television and print interviews. He trains creativity coaches and natural psychology specialists and maintains an extensive individual creativity coaching practice.
