What motivated you to become an indie author?
The fun of taking on a new challenge! I have done a lot of writing over the years - business documents, college papers, etc. This is the first time I have tried writing a book. I also wanted to learn HOW to publish as an indie. I am a techie who loves to learn new computer skills so writing something to publish as an e-book was an irresistible opportunity.
What's the story behind your book?
I have been an assistant for over 25 years. During that time I have worked with a number of good (and not so good) managers and many co-workers and have learned a lot from all of them. This book is an opportunity to share what I have learned, both the "Do's" and the "Do Not's" of office life.
Administrative Assistant jobs are rarely boring, frequently challenging, sometimes creative and always worthwhile. This book shows you how to get such a position – including a discussion of the necessary skills – and how to succeed at it. The author covers a wide variety of topics from how to get the job, deal with “difficult” managers understand the "unwritten rules" of office life.
Living single can be exhilarating, interesting, rewarding and satisfying. The author draws upon the skills and knowledge she has gained and as well as the real-life experiences of her extended family, friends and co-workers to give men and women of all generations the tools, tips, insights and motivation to succeed.
