It turns our merpeople mate like fish and fertilize the eggs outside the body, so when Zander, the seasoned and bashfully aroused fisherman, meets Delphina, the naïve but curious mermaid, plenty of first time play occurs. We never thought you could make the cloaca attractive, but it turns out we were wrong. It gets a little bizarre in its word choices at times, but at 3300 words and 99 cents, “Myth of the Mermaid” is an affordable, playful, fast read that makes good, creative use of its premise. Add to that the bonus that mermaids have no gag reflex in Truehart's world, and you've got a winner. Besides, the story passed the number one test around these parts: it reminded us that we’d somehow gone a week without having sex and we promptly made out like mermen. It should be noted that it is rather difficult to locate an adult-sized mermaid tale outside of October.
