Mark Andrew

Biography

Mark Andrew was born in Wollongong in Australia. He originally trained as a metallurgist and worked in the steelworks at Port Kembla. He now lives in Petersham in Sydney with his partner. In his youth he travelled extensively in India and fell in love with the country and the people. He has returned there many times.

Mark is a Buddhist and has practiced meditation for many years in several traditions before settling on Zen. He likes to travel, read, restore old books and cultivate Bonsai. He now works as an analyst in the finance industry.

Mark is gay and lives with Shibly, his partner of more than ten years.

"Jalendu" is his only book so far though he is working on two more ideas. "Jalendu" brings together several influences in Mark's life; his love of India and knowledge of its history, a spirituality influenced by Zen Buddhism and his romantic interest as a gay man.
