SeaQuake Books is an in-print and online publisher of books, journals, magazines and pamphlets.
The policy journals published by SeaQuake are aimed at decision makers on a local, regional and national level. They include the work of academics and executives in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
The poetry policy followed by Seaquake is to keep poetry open, democratic and accessible. In practice, while most submissions are from well published poets, there is an open submission policy and the encouragement of new and innovative writing. SeaQuake promote's work of character and authenticity and may provide limited editorial support and advice to promising new poets.
The Senior Director of SeaQuake Books (CQEC Publishing), Phil McNulty, was born in Liverpool in 1954 and has had a wide range of experiences, from work in fairgrounds, factories and oil refineries to the Civil Service and, finally, Headship of the secondary school for Toxteth, Liverpool. He has had a long involvement with political processes on a regional and national level. He has travelled widely and worked extensively both in Britain and in the Middle East. He was an advisor to Tony Blair as the head of a school succeeding in challenging circumstances. He published his educational experiences as ‘Extreme Headship… a case study in educational leadership and school improvement.’ (2005, Trafford ISBN 1-4120 5586-5). The book has since been adopted on Masters Programmes in dozens of British and American universities. He is a published travel writer, essayist and poet. His work has featured on BBC radio. He is the author of ‘Deep State’, a political thriller. He is a Director of CQEC, a community based management, research and development organisation of which SeaQuake Books is an imprint.
