Rob Renée

Biography

I am Rob Renée. I am a father of 7 children and I write stories which have now become books for children. Children of all ages, as young as 2 and as old as 92, because you should never really fully grow up! I live in the World of South Wales, not far from the Village of Cardiff, just across the water from the Vale of England. I was born in Cheshire. My dad was in the RAF so I've lived all over the place.

I'm currently in the process of producing helpful books for parents to read to their children. The most recent books are the series about the Poo's. Yes, the Poo's. The Poo family that live next to the Wee family. You may laugh, and please feel free to do so when you read the books, but these are actually written to help with toilet training and toilet training issues, such as Encopresis. 1 in 7 children soil themselves by accident, often because of an unfounded fear of the sensation of pooing. This is covered in Meet The Poo's. Constipation is often the subconscious cause of the phobia itself, and this is covered in Peter Poo to the Rescue. These books have been very well received by parents, schools and health visitors across the UK.

I am also in the process of writing a range of books for 10-14 year olds. These books are likely to contain many references to breaking wind and the smells that accompany the noises. This is not for medical reasons, it's just because I find them funny and so have the guinea pigs I've used to read them so far!

I tried being an aircraft engineer for the Ministry of Defence, a motorcycle instructor, I worked in security, I ran my own web design business and then realised... I enjoy writing stories for my children, I enjoy being silly and making up stories that make children and adults laugh - let me try putting pen to paper (well, finger to keyboard) and see what appears on the page (screen). And, here I am now. Writing books :-)

Smashwords Interview

Who are your favorite authors?
I'm probably the worlds number one fan of the late Roald Dahl. I've read other books obviously, from Jules Vernes, HG Wells, Clive Cussler, Joseph Heller, Playboy, Andy McNab, Anthony Lavisher, Terry Pratchet. Playboy was a joke, just to check if anyone was reading or just pretending! I can't remember everything I've read to be honest.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I have 7 children. When I'm not writing or marketing my books I am running around after one or more of the children! My partner and I spend a great deal of time "teaching the way" and taking & collecting them to school, friends, swimming etc. I have to admit that I do like a good xBox fix in the evenings as well. I'm a Battlefield 4 fan. Add me if you like, we'll start a war! Tag "ridad".

Meet The Poo's
Series: The Poos, Scared to poo. Price: $3.00 USD. Words: 1,210. Language: British English. Published: November 29, 2013 . Categories: Fiction » Children’s books » Health & Daily Living / Toilet Training
Meet The Poo's is written to help parents of children that have a sometimes unexplained and seemingly irrational fear of passing a poo or using the toilet. It is written to take the emphasis off the child to use the toilet, instead removing pressure and blame. Peter Poo causes the accidents and needs your child’s help, an entirely different approach.
Peter Poo to the Rescue
Series: The Poos, Unable to poo. Price: $3.00 USD. Words: 2,170. Language: British English. Published: November 28, 2013 . Categories: Fiction » Children’s books » Health & Daily Living / Toilet Training
A child that suffers from Encopresis is often, wrongly, seen as a naughty or untrained child, so these books aim to reduce the stress on both the child and the parents and encourage better understanding and communication of the problem. Encopresis can lead to a child having a phobia of the sensation of passing a poo, and 1 in 7 children are affected by it - some into their teen years.
