Wilburn, Arizona is a town with a violent past, desperate for water-- filled with bitterness and jealousy over the prosperity of neighboring towns. When feisty graduate student Lyla Amir arrives in town to research the 1918 lynching of a black farmer and his wife, she becomes part of a chain of transformative events that will rewrite Wilburn's history and give its citizens a chance for redemption.
